Including a few nuts in your daily diet can help lower your risk of heart attack, stroke, and heart disease.

According to an American medical study published in the journal Nutrition, amino acids form diverse chemical compounds after entering the stomach that enhances the immune system against chronic illnesses such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Consuming a variety of nuts such as almonds, cashews, pistachios, and walnuts increases tryptophan metabolism in obese patients.

Tryptophan is an amino acid present in nuts that helps to protect against coronary artery disease.

According to a University of California research, eating nuts boosts gut flora and raises levels of heart-protecting tryptophan.

The study involved 95 obese persons and looked at the consequences of high nut consumption. The researchers then stated that we already know that eating nuts decrease the risk of heart disease, and the new findings explain why.

"We identified a link between tryptophan and blood pressure, heart rate, and hunger, indicating that nuts are beneficial to cardiovascular health," they wrote.

The study also revealed that consuming a variety of nuts over many weeks raised the body's level of a hormone called serotonin.

However, the researchers stated that further research is needed to corroborate the findings, although it is obvious that nuts have favorable benefits on mental health.

Please keep in mind that this is only informational.

Consult a doctor for an accurate diagnosis and treatment of your ailment.
